Frequently Asked Questions

We’ll be posting answers to the Frequently Asked Questions we receive on our site. Come back for the latest.

Q. Can I really build a website by myself?

A.  Absolutely! But it does take an understanding of the correct process and tools you need to use. A Content Management System like Site Build It! or WordPress makes it a lot easier. That way you don’t have to know any HTML coding or have graphic design skills

Q. What is this Keyword Research/Brainstorming I hear everyone talking about?

A. Brainstorming is what you do to research the right niche for you and the best keywords for your site. Keywords are important because that’s what the Search Engines look for on your site to determine what the site is about. If you can build your page and site around keywords that have good demand and not too much competition you’ll have a better chance of getting good rankings in the Search Engines and they’ll send you traffic.

On the other hand…

If you buy your keywords with PPC (AdWords) you can have traffic within minutes.

Q. How Long Before The Search Engines Send You Traffic?

A. Depends on how well you researched your niche and keywords. Plus all the other SEO factors will also contribute to your traffic. Typically if you follow the correct process you can get fair amounts of traffic within 2-6 months. For more competitive niches it may take a lot longer. The number of pages on your site also is a contributing factor. The more the better.

As far as getting recognized by the Search Engines (called being Indexed) that can happen within a few weeks if you submit to search engines and get some backlinks from some big Social Networking sites ASAP. Now this may not lead to much traffic right away but it will get the process rolling.

Q. What Is Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

A. SEO is all the the techniques and tactics you use to let the Search Engines know what your site and page are about. Because SE’s are blind, it usually takes knowing how to add important keywords to certain parts of your page and HTML code in a way that makes your site “search engine friendly.”

SEO is also building up your site’s reputation as an authority by getting links to your site from other sites on the web. This is called “off-page” SEO strategies.

Q. What Are The Most Important Search Engine Optimization Techniques?

A. All are important but focus on making sure your main keyword is in the page name, title tag, first head <h1> on a page, in the meta description tag, and sprinkled throughout your page. Those are the “on-page” techniques.

The most important “off-page” techniques relate to getting lots of in-bound links (sometimes called back-links) to your site from other authority sites in your niche.

Of course there is more to it than that but keeping those factors in mind will keep you on track.

Q. What’s the Key To Making Money Online?

A. First of all your site must be built around keywords with “buying intention.” If you can find a real need with your Keyword Research and then provide a Monetizable “solution” then you CAN make money online. Of course, your Keyword Research must also find phrases that you can actually win and get on the first page of the Search Engines to get traffic. No traffic means no money.
