Just a quick note to let everyone know that I have taken the plunge here on the WP site. Let me tell you something- this is sooooo easy! Do not be afraid! It is as easy as Blogger if not easier.
First, you will need to register in order to be able to make posts and not just comment on other people’s posts. To do that, look over to the Meta panel on the right of this post. See where it says register? Click on that, choose a name to display (I’d suggest your first name along with your site name so we know who you are when you post) and then enter it. You might need to hit apply to save the changes, but I can’t remember. It’s as simple as that!
Anyway, Rick has set us all up as editors, so once yoo register, you can write new posts, comment on others, and edit posts that are already posted.
If you want to comment on a post, you do that on the main site screen. If you want to create a new post, you make sure that you are logged in, and from the Dashboard screen, you will see an area on the top right where you can create a new post.
“Posts” are the blogging part of the WordPress site and “Pages” are static pages that we can create. (Let me know if that is wrong, Rick…)
I did some keyword research before I knew that a domain name had been selected, but this research might be good to share with you about how I did it and some gems I found that might make for good page topics later.
I think I will try to write a “Page” and see what happens with that. Of course, both blog posts and WP site pages can be SEO optimized with good keywords, so I hope that everyone will come on in the pool and swim with me. I feel really silly all alone out here in my swimmies….
Blog about ANYTHING that you are doing to make your site better. Everything about our site building efforts is valid and we can learn a lot from hearing about each others adventures/successes/big splats.
It doesn’t work well if it is just one or two of us though….
Hope to see you here soon!

Thanks Lori for priming the pump. What a great video!
And yes this is as easy as Lori says. Let’s all start making this a great site.
